Moving costs, published honestly.
BestMoving.us publishes long-distance moving cost estimates for specific US city-to-city routes, priced by route, home size and month from published industry cost ranges rather than a single national average. We connect people moving within the United States with licensed, insured US carriers, never brokers. US moves only.
What we do
BestMoving.us publishes what long-distance moves actually cost on specific routes, 22 corridors so far, out of 2 origin markets, priced by home size and by month.
The moving industry has a strange information problem. Ask what a move costs and you get either a national average that blends a studio going 200 miles with a five-bedroom going coast to coast, or a form that wants your phone number before it tells you anything. Neither helps you plan. So we publish the numbers first, in public, and let you decide whether to call.
We only publish routes we can price honestly. If a corridor is not on the site, it is because we do not have the numbers for it, not because we forgot to generate the page.
Who fulfils the moves
BestMoving.us publishes moving cost estimates and public carrier licence information. Quote requests made through this site are passed to a licensed interstate carrier, and we are paid for them. Cost figures on this site are estimates, not quotes.
We are not naming our fulfilment partner publicly at the moment, so do not take our word for anything on this point. Treat us the way we are telling you to treat every mover: ask who is actually carrying the shipment, get the USDOT number in writing, and check it yourself before any money changes hands.
Our licensing data comes from the FMCSA public register rather than from anyone's marketing. You can search it directly at the FMCSA mover search, or use our broker check tool, which reads the same records.
How we price
Volume
Long-distance moves are priced on shipment volume, not hourly rates. Home size maps to cubic feet.
Distance
Applied in bands rather than per mile, a longer haul spreads the fixed cost of loading.
Season
A monthly multiplier peaking in summer. The factor most cost guides leave out entirely.
Where we operate
Origin markets with published route data. Long-distance moves nationwide through the carrier network.

A binding estimate from a licensed carrier, not a broker handing your move to whoever bids lowest.
